UPDATES FROM THE BOARD

ANNUAL MEETING

This year's Annual Meeting is June 29th at 10 AM at the Sunset Bay Beach Club. Lou Pelletter, Supervisor of the Town of Hanover will be there to talk about a possible tax increase.  We'll talk about our accomplishments this year and discuss what's next.  We have a garbage contract to approve.  Casella has given us a choice of year-round garbage pickup for everyone.  This will need your vote, as will your selection of 4 director positions, and your approval of our proposed 2024-2025 budget. Please come to here our updates and to discuss your ideas or concerns.

Don't Forget to Vote!

DIRECTOR POSITIONS

This year, we have two (2) directors whose terms are expiring (Mike Piskorowski and Kathy Burmaster) and two (2) directors who have decided to leave the board.  Regrettably, Larry Bogdan has resigned in exchange for living a life filled with golf, fishing, camping and other such enjoyable things; and Todd Roland, who has been extremely busy with his medical career, has graciously decided to allow someone else who has more time to give, to take his place on the board.  We thank them both for their years of service and for the work that they’ve done as part of this board. If you see them, please thank them.

The following candidates are running for this year's board positions:

Nicole Franz

Julie Romain

Mike Piskorowski

Kathy Burmaster

Please view their profiles here.

VOLUNTEER!

Sunset Bay Association is an organization of committees.  The Board's responsibilities are to oversee the operations of the organization.  We need volunteers to help get projects done.  As they say, MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK.  Help is needed to help plan and organize events, to make Sunset Bay more beautiful, to build a stronger community of friends and neighbors and to keep Sunset Bay safe.  Please let us know you're interested in helping by updating your profile or completing the volunteer form.

If you have ideas or suggestions, you can always email us at Sunsetbayassociation@yahoo.com.

GARBAGE SERVICE

Begins Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 6AM

and resumes every Monday afterwards.

Just a reminder, Casella will pick-up only that which can fit in your totes. Trash outside of the tote (bags etc.) will be refused by Casella and will remain on the curb. In addition, Casella will not pick-up any trash items that are not accepted at the Chautauqua Co landfills.

Heavy trash items such as mattresses, furniture, etc. will also remain on the curb.  These items are only picked-up once a year during our scheduled Heavy Trash Day.  Outside of this, they can be dropped off at one of the Chautauqua County Transfer stations.

Thank you for doing your part to keep Sunset Bay clean!
